The Apps and Websites Every Card Collector Should Know
Collectr for portfolio tracking, eBay sold for real prices, ALT for graded cards, TCGplayer and PriceCharting for US benchmarks - and how to connect it all to ILS pricing in Israel.
Updated 13 July 2026

Collecting cards in 2026 without apps means guessing prices. Three tools cover almost everything: Collectr for managing the collection, eBay sold for real sale prices, and haklaf for ILS pricing in the Israeli market. If you want to know how much a Pokémon card is worth, start with completed sales - not with what someone hopes to get.
Why collector apps matter
Asking price is not sale price. A listing can sit for months at $300 while identical cards actually sell around $190. That is why card valuation starts with closed transactions, not with the seller's wish.
Good apps help you do 3 things: track collection value, spot trends before buying, and notice when a price looks unusual. They do not replace judgment, condition checks, or sharp photos, but they remove a lot of guesswork.
Collectr: collection management
Collectr is a portfolio app for card collectors. As of July 2026, it supports 25+ trading card games, including Pokémon, One Piece, and Magic. Its core use is simple: add or scan cards, see collection value, and track profit and loss over time.
Collectr prices are based on real sales data and marketplaces such as eBay and TCGplayer. That gives you a quick market view, especially when you have many cards and do not want to check each one manually. It also shows charts over time, so you can see whether a card is rising, falling, or just sitting still.
| Plan | What you get | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Unlimited portfolio and basic value tracking | Most collectors who want an organized collection |
| PRO - $7.99/month or $59.99/year | Unlimited scans, price history up to 5+ years, data exports | Active collectors, sellers, and large portfolios |
eBay: how to check a real sale price
eBay sold is the core pricing check. Not because eBay is perfect, but because it shows transactions that actually closed. Whenever you see a Pokémon card price guide, ask one question: is this an asking price, or an average of eBay sales?
- Search by card name, set number, and language. For example: card name + a number like 199/165 + Japanese or English.
- Filter to Sold items, not only Completed items.
- Open the latest 3-5 sales for cards in similar condition.
- Remove outliers: lots, damaged cards, wrong grades, unusual shipping, or photos that do not prove condition.
- Calculate a reasonable average, then convert to ILS with landed costs.
eBay usually shows only about the last 3 months of sales. That is enough for active cards, but weaker for rare cards that sell only every few months. For expensive cards, it is also worth knowing eBay's Authenticity Guarantee program, which applies around $250+ in relevant categories. The exact threshold changes, so check eBay's help page before a large deal.

ALT: a price index for graded cards
ALT is a US vault and trading platform for graded cards. For Israelis, the main value is not necessarily selling through the platform, but ALT Value: a free price index for graded cards based on verified sales.
ALT is especially useful when checking a PSA 10, CGC, or BGS card and eBay has only a few recent sales. The long historical charts help you see whether the latest sale is an outlier or part of a trend. The vault and selling flow are less relevant from Israel because of shipping to the US, fees, and currency. Fees change, so check ALT before using any commercial service.
TCGplayer and PriceCharting
TCGplayer Market Price is one of the most common US benchmarks. It is based on recent sales on the platform, so it works well as a quick comparison. But most sellers do not ship directly to Israel, so that number is not your real landed cost.
PriceCharting gives free historical charts by condition: raw, graded, and often by specific grade. It is good for long-term context, but less suitable as the final price for a specific card with borderline condition.
| Tool | What it gives you | Free or paid | Most useful for... |
|---|---|---|---|
| Collectr | Portfolio, scanning, value, and charts | Free, with paid PRO | Portfolio tracking and trends |
| eBay sold | Real recent completed sales | Free | Pricing before buying or selling |
| ALT | ALT Value and graded-card charts | Free index, commercial services vary | Graded cards and expensive deals |
| TCGplayer | Market Price from platform sales | Free to view | US benchmark for English cards |
| PriceCharting | Historical charts by raw and graded condition | Free for most basic use | Long-term trends and grade comparison |
Recommended workflow
- Before buying, check eBay sold and Collectr. If they are far apart, understand why before paying.
- Before selling, check eBay sold, an app price guide, and local listings on the haklaf board.
- Once a month, update your Collectr portfolio and remove cards you already sold or traded.
- For an expensive graded card, add ALT Value and PriceCharting before setting a final price.
Where haklaf fits in
All the tools above price mostly in USD and mostly for the US market. That is a good baseline, but it does not answer the Israeli question: what will a collector in Israel pay now, in shekels, without US shipping and import friction?
That is where the haklaf board completes the picture: it shows Israeli listings in ILS, with filters by game, condition, grade, and area. Before selling, also compare against the selling in Israel guide, so you understand where to list and how to avoid underpricing.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best app for Pokémon card collectors?
For day-to-day collection management, Collectr is the easiest fit for most collectors: scan cards, track collection value, and watch portfolio charts over time. For pricing before buying or selling, do not rely on it alone - check eBay sold, and if you are in Israel compare against the haklaf board in ILS.
How do you check what a Pokémon card is worth for free?
Search the card name, set number, and language on eBay, filter to Sold items, and average 3-5 recent comparable sales. Then compare against Collectr or PriceCharting for trend context, and against a local board to understand the ILS market.
How much does Collectr PRO cost?
As of July 2026, Collectr PRO costs $7.99 per month or $59.99 per year. The free plan includes an unlimited portfolio, while PRO adds features such as unlimited scans, extended price history, and data exports.
Does TCGplayer ship to Israel?
In most cases, TCGplayer sellers do not ship directly to Israel, so Israeli buyers either use a forwarding service or treat TCGplayer mainly as a US price benchmark. Before ordering, check shipping, taxes, and full landed cost.
What is ALT Value?
ALT Value is ALT's free price index for graded cards. It is based on verified sales and shows long historical charts, which makes it especially useful when checking PSA, CGC, or BGS cards.
Is an app price guide enough for selling in Israel?
Not by itself. Most apps show USD pricing for the US market, before shipping, VAT, local demand, and liquidity gaps. For selling in Israel, convert carefully and compare against local listings and actual local demand.
