Accessibility Statement

Accessibility accommodations on haklaf and how to contact us about accessibility

Updated 5 July 2026

The haklaf Platform Operator places great importance on providing an equal and accessible service to the entire public, including people with disabilities. This site was built from the ground up according to the accessibility principles below, in line with the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility Adjustments for Service) Regulations, 2013, and the international WCAG 2.0 Level AA standard.

1. Conformance Level

The site was designed and tested for conformance with WCAG 2.0 Level AA. Many features also overlap with WCAG 2.1 requirements. Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we do not claim perfect, absolute conformance at all times on every page.

2. Accessibility Accommodations

  • Semantic HTML5 structure and a correct heading hierarchy (a single H1 per page, ordered subheadings).
  • A “skip to main content” link at the top of every page.
  • Full keyboard navigation across all site components, including forms and menus, with a clear focus-visible indicator.
  • Bilingual (Hebrew/English) ARIA labels on navigation, buttons, and forms.
  • Color contrast meeting AA requirements between text and background, in both light and dark mode.
  • Full support for RTL direction in Hebrew and LTR in English, including correctly mirrored icons and logical spacing.
  • Alt text on images the site itself publishes (design, logo, icons).
  • Responsive design that functions with browser text zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
  • Forms with clear error messages linked to the relevant field.

3. Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some partial accessibility gaps may exist, including:

  • User-generated content — photos and listing descriptions are uploaded by Platform users, and may not always include full alt text or accessible phrasing.
  • Links to external sites (such as grading providers, price sources) are outside our control and may not be accessible to the same degree.
  • New dynamic areas (e.g. the listings board, the listing wizard) may receive further accessibility improvements as they develop.

4. How to Contact Us About Accessibility

Found an accessibility issue on the site? We would like to know and fix it. Contact the Accessibility Coordinator — the haklaf team, at info@haklaf.co.il. We will do our best to respond and address the issue within a reasonable time.

If you do not receive a satisfactory response, you may contact Israel’s Commission for Equal Rights of Persons with Disabilities at the Ministry of Justice: gov.il — Commission for Equal Rights of Persons with Disabilities (phone: *6763).

5. Review and Updates

This accessibility statement is reviewed and updated periodically, and whenever the site undergoes a material change. Conformance was assessed via an automated scan (axe/Lighthouse) and a manual keyboard-navigation and focus-visible spot check, as of the last update date.
